Promos, Tunes and Labubus

To celebrate the start of the 2025-2026 school year, York University Development Corporation (YUDC) hosted the first annual Taste of York Lanes, inviting students, faculty and staff to rediscover the heart of campus retail. The event brought together the YorkU community for a day of flavour and fun, celebrating the diverse dining and shopping experiences that make York Lanes a favourite campus destination.

Retailers across York Lanes offered special promotions to help students, faculty and staff mark the start of a new semester. Coupled with the York Federation of Students' YorkFest Village, which had the Harry Arthurs Commons buzzing with activity, the atmosphere on campus was electric.

The community enjoyed live music from Student DJ David Morharts, whose set added energy and excitement to the day. Prizes were given away every hour, including Labubus and gift cards to spend at York Lanes. Congratulations to the lucky winners!

Throughout the day there were over 23,000 visits to the mall. YUDC would like to express a big thank you to everyone who stopped by and made the first Taste of York Lanes a success.
